About Us

Who We Are

One University, One Team

In August 2024, City, University of London merged with St George's, University of London to form City St George's, University of London, bringing together two well-established institutions under one name. Our team took on a new identity alongside it: from City Racing to CSG Racing, carrying forward everything the team built before while representing the newly combined university at Formula Student.

Our History

Long before we were CSG Racing, we competed as City Racing, City, University of London's Formula Student team. Through the 2010s, the team designed, built, and raced a series of cars, including CR18, taking them to Silverstone each year to compete against dozens of other university teams from across the UK and beyond in the Formula Student Engineering Competition. After that run, the team went quiet, and City went without an entry for the best part of a decade. In the 2024/25 season, with our university newly merged and rebranded as City St George's, a small group of students revived the project from scratch, entering Silverstone as a Concept team for the first time in seven years, and CSG Racing was born.
